Hi,

newbie here, so go easy on me!

Having just purchased a 58 plate Ford Focus Zetec 1.6 Petrol Ive already left the sidelights on in the car twice. Should there be an audio warning to let me know that the headlights were on when I left the car?

Thanks!

There is indeed a "headlight left on" warning sounder in my mums Ford Focus Zetec 1.6 (2002). However the side lights do not trigger it iirc (will check tomorrow).

Does it make mention of it in your manual?

Mine's an 06 1.6 Zetec petrol and there is an audible warning (intermittent beep) for side or headlights on. Mine works when driver door is opened with key in 'off' position

I believe there is a little relay somewhere that produces the sound either under the column or more likely in the passenger side fuse box

Check fuse 137 in the passenger fusebox.

Are you sure you're not turning it to parking lights? These will not sound a warning and leave your sidelights/tail lights on (not the reg plate though)

Checked in both my Mk2 and works Mk2.5 and the warming tones originate from the dash, somewhere behind the Speedo cluster.
I'm getting the idea that the sounder module is part of the cluster itself.
