Which fuse is it? And does it affect any other part of the car if I do remove it? And which fuse box? In the car or under the bonnet?

The port just needs popping out of it's current location and cable tied back out of the way so that it is not easy to access through a quarter window.

The wiring does not need modifying, all you are doing is making it impossible to access from outside the car.

In the meantime, ask your works Security guys if you can park in a position closer to your works access and ideally under strong lighting and with CCTV coverage.

They may even oblige you with keeping a closer eye on it for you if a couple of beers are on offer.

Make sure that on entering your vehicle that you check carefully for any tampering to locks/windows etc. and check the car interior for any moved items or anything out of the obvious.

Not to rattle you but- Check footwells for 'Lurkers'.

A steering lock should dissuade all but the more determined 'tealeaf'

Ok I'll get my husband to try that later on, and I'll chat to security to make sure I'm right under / in perfect view of their cameras

By lurkers does that mean what I think you mean? :o

I believe the fuse you need to pull is F5 in the passenger footwell fusebox, should be a blue 15a mini fuse.

if you have your Owners Manual it would be best to confirm this.

Look for the one listed as 'Diagnostic connector'.

I don't mean to scare you as it's very unlikely, but just asking you to be fully aware and take precautions.

Pulling the fuse won't affect the rest of the car's normal operation ability.

Indeed, it just means that any device connected to the OBD will not be able to establish a connection to the ECU.

Lurka,, i think its a hairy greyhound :D :D :D

ASk your security which part of the car park is covered by the camera's and park your car there, when you leave your car make sure the alarm system is fully armed and never half armed and the doors are always dead locked.
Its always good to have visuals to ward off thieves as well, yellow coloured steering locks etc,, a mate use to have a wheel clamp on his car when ever he left it on his drive for a while,, big bright yellow thing that basically says sod off and find something easier.

Good luck.

Easiest way to move the obd is to disconnect the plug behind the port. That's the quick fix and any attempted theft just wouldn't result in them trying to reconnect the port.

Must admit I have taken photos of other cars, sometimes because something weird happens lol like I saw a mound of hair on someone's rear wiper....

Does the security not patrol the exterior of the building as I work security and the place my company are securing have a strict policy stating that the exterior of the building must be patrolled 24/7 just that most security companies or there clients would insist on external patrols. See as to the CCTV problem in the car park see they would class that area as a low risk areas there cameras would be more focused on the perimeter or the building they are there to secure. But this is only my opinion as I don't know what it is you work at or they are securing. But the place I work at is like fort nox.

Defiantly try to park closer to cameras don't think because u park beside your work friends means they won't try anything. If only there was a way to rig the alarm so that when u lock your car if anybody touched it they would get electrocuted

I'm sure there's a law somewhere protecting scum who try to steal cars so this will be illegal :)

I'm liking the idea of self defending cars :d a LOT! Though as you say there's probably some law against them

Unfortunately our security are diabolical and I swear even so much as stepping outside is beyond most of them, they're camera happy using their little joystick for control

"Extend the wiring" for £3000.00. Did you ask them where to exactly ? The southern hemisphere ? Pull the fuse to the port for now, as indicated. Round this way the is an epidemic of Fords being stolen using this method.
