Failed release bearing is much more likely due to a foot testing on the clutch pedal.

And personally at 80k kms I'd always change all clutch components rather than just one.

Personal opinion.

This is the answer.

The release bearing will not be under any more strain after a re map.

I had the same sort of problem. I’ve got the focus eco boost 1.0 125bhp. I had a stage 1 remap put on mine and my engine lasted 5 weeks and it blew 2 holes in my engine and had to get a new engine. Now my fly wheel is now going and having to get a full clutch kit fitted costing  £910 for the clutch kit. Definitely would not advise anyone with a 1.0l eco boost on getting it mapped in any way, they can’t handle it.
