Mk4 Mondeo 1.8 TDCI, !Removed! noisy power steering and two successive MOTs commenting on the fact, but not suggesting changing anything. I got fed up and changed the pump out myself, but the noise is worse! Belt tight, no leaks, nothing amiss but the pump is definitely the source. Could this be something else restricting the fluid and thus overworking the pump? I've seen some suggestion it might be a blocked reservoir, but it doesn't seem to be a part that can be sourced outside of handing the car over to a garage and playing service roulette.
