Installing genuine Ford dog guard

I recently got a genuine Ford dog guard, top and bottom parts from a popular auction site. It arrived today and it seems to be complete, two halves, a bag of nuts and washers and two odd looking bars.

I've had a go installing it but as it came with no instructions I have to guess how it is supposed to be fitted.

I've put the top half in my Mk3 Focus Estate, hanging it from the sockets in the roof. The bottom of the top half meets the top of the rear seat. There are two brackets with a captive threaded nut. The bolts fit the threaded nuts. It's not clear how I attach the top half to the read seat. There are no holes in the back of the read seats.

Fitting the bottom half will be stage 2. Top half first....

Has anyone fitted on of these genuine Ford dog guards? Any pointers will be very welcome.

I have a genuine focus dog guard for a mk1 facelift (hatchback) the top part fits into the roof as you have done it meets the top of the back seat there should be 2 poles which are attached to top part that have to attach to the brackets which keep the seat locked in place.this makes it a perfect fit.hope this makes sense and helps
