Stoney871 Posted April 7, 2015 Share Posted April 7, 2015 I'd recommend replacing the top mounts parts as well as they don't like being disturbed. Had a spring done last year and on driving it I got an awful metallic grinding sound. The top mount wasn't allowing the spring to rotate so it was rotating in the bottom mount scraping metal on metal. Car went back next day and everything had to come out again. BTW, you need to remove the wiper arms and scuttle trim to get to the top bolts which can add a bit of time to the task. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

troy45 Posted April 7, 2015 Share Posted April 7, 2015 Handy hint getting the wiper arms off, just push down on the short section of wiper arm next to the spindle. After removing the nuts obviously. For the topmounts don't do what I did and just buy the replacement plates but not the bearings themselves May need the alignment checking once the new springs have had a few miles to settle in, and if you've got HID lamps with levelling sensors make sure you note the orientation of the linkage before you disconnect it from the lower wishbone - can mount in 2 different ways but headlamps levelling goes to pot if you get it wrong. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
