Mondeo Auto Clunks Going Into Reverse

Hi, looking for some advice, I have just changed the OSF spring, since putting it all back together it now clunks going into reverse, however it doesn't do it when selecting drive, it was ok prior to changing the spring, I've noticed the other spring now needs replacing but don't think this is causing the clunking, any advise would be appreciated, regards Ken

I dont see how replacing a spring will have any effect on the gearbox!

My only fault could be that where you have jacked the car up, this has caused the gearbox oil to move about and potentially moved about any tiny metal shavings that may or may not have been in the gearbox oil.

I would recommend a gearbox oil change and hopefully this may solve your problems! If not, consider a gearbox software reflash.

How bad is the clunk?

Thanks for input, the clunks not to bad, sometimes worse than others, I have checked all the mountings etc in case any had wear and had split when jacked up, but all seem okay, I have noticed the NSF spring is gone as well, not sure if this will contribute to the problem or not, checked oil level and alls good, will check further as suggested, much appreciated, Ken
