What Could Be Causing This Leak

Hi I will apologize in advance for my lack of knowledge and crap pictures.

So I have a small oil leak "I think it's from the sump nut as it appears to be from that area" I also have a slight water leak that only is noticeable then the engine is off, the water drips from the sump towards the side of the belt and ect.

But from the pictures I've taken there appears to be a mixture of water and oil splashed all under the drivers side so I would assume the water still leaks when the engine is on but the belt just throws the water all over instead of dripping. post-50356-142921169652_thumb.jpgpost-50356-142921171133_thumb.jpgpost-50356-142921172379_thumb.jpgpost-50356-142921173361_thumb.jpgpost-50356-142921175444_thumb.jpgpost-50356-14292117729_thumb.jpgpost-50356-142921178236_thumb.jpgpost-50356-142921179327_thumb.jpgpost-50356-142921181458_thumb.jpgpost-50356-142921169652_thumb.jpg

I don't think that is sump plug nor a small leak... Unfortunately I can't tell from photos where it is coming from.

it could be the thermostat housing I think they are made of plastic and they are prone to cracking

Thanks for the reply guys , oil leaks in the drive directly underneath where the sump plug is. I think the water leak could be the water pump gasket. The leak is definitely from the side that the pump is on "drivers side" whereas thermostat is on the passenger side, the car appears to run fine "with regards to the oil leak" I'm saying sump plug as I did do a oil change back in November n I didn't change the washer on the sump plug as I didn't know I had to until the other day" I'm abit of a amateur

Actually didn't think of the oil filter it could possibly be that as I did change it when I did the Change but from the pictures the filter casing n ect looks free of oil

oil filter or sump gasket, looking at the pictures there seems to be a lot of oil where the filter meets the engine, get sum degreaser clean off the oil then run the car and see if you can see where its coming from, cos it could be coming from anywhere really,

i will start by saying sorry about the delay.

so i finally managed to get the coolant system pressure tested today and the mechanic said that the water pump is fine. and that the leak is coming from the "plastic housing" behind the water pump. he said that i could only get the part from the dealer and that id need to take the aux belt to the alternator off and then change the housing.

also i did an oil change today and changed the sump plug and this time remembered a washer so the oil leak should now stop

so next on the agenda is to attempt to find out what this part is called and then get it fixed.

So today i went down to ford "sadly not in my own car as i was working"

i described what the mechanic had said and explained where it was leaking from and etc they then told me that the only plastic housing it could be in that area would be part number 8594 which has now been superceded by 8k556

Shown here

anyhow i ordered the part and when i showed the print out to the mechanic he said that it is the same part

altho im slightly confused as isnt the thermostat housing on the opposite side of the engine not the side where the water pump is... or does this part connect to the water pump and feed water to the thermostat housing ?
