MattDRX
Thought about this for a while now. Who on here is up for helping me create a petition for the next parliament. Simply put to make parking fines fair and reasonable. I would like to create one that inflicts a cap on the fine @ 1.5X the maximum daily rate, the whole idea of these fines was supposed to make up for financial loss they incur by non tariff payers taking up spaces etc. Anyone up for helping out on this, I'm sure with the powers of car forums we could raise over 100K sigs to get it into parliament it can be started on the 11/05 I believe when the site comes back online. Fed up with people taking the mickey over a few £ or a few measley minutes.

Incontro
I assume this is against private parking companies? I'll happily sign/help if I can.
MattDRX
Of course, we are and always will be powerless against our duly elected councils.

Phil 87
I'd sign it, and ask others to sign too. It's a good idea setting a cap on fines for pay & display spaces.

Philf1
What about this, perhaps councils should be included in your petition as well http://home.bt.com/lifestyle/motoring/motoring-news/motorist-fined-for-failing-to-display-a-tax-disc-even-though-they-dont-exist-anymore-11363976638578 Some of these people are unbelievably inept.

Haha, I'd say to them "there's no such thing as a tax disc, how can you charge me for not having one?".
jeebowhite
I'm appealing a ticket now, 100 quid bending over for parking in a disabled space that was advised it was a shared parent child disabled Bay. 100 quid for less than an hour there. Fark off.
