Brigante
Just had my glove box out of my mk4 to see what bluetooth module I have, bit of a fail really as I must be going blind and I can not see where the module is hiding Can anyone tell me where I should be looking? While not finding the bt module, I found a couple random plugs not plugged into anything. Just wondered if anyone knows what they are for? The first was sticking out of the left side of the glove box It isn't plugged into anything electrical The second mystery plug was taped up and tucked up above the front of the glove box Does anyone know what either of the mystery plugs are for and more importantly where my bt module is hiding? Brigante
Where exactly is the bt module hiding? Was shining me cree torch right around and could not locate it. Why would there be a cd player plug there? I already have a cd changer in the boot

As for bt module get a mirror and have a look for high up, will be a single plug , module held in place by 1 torq screw, will have nokia written on it
Brigante
Yup know what the module looks like, bulky ish black box with nokia on it as you say I'll have to faff about taking the glovebox back out and get my inspection mirror in there
al2052
Lay on your back and poke your head up the glovebox hole looking towards the back of the car and its their immediately behing the silver strip on the dash, the plug on the LH side of the glovebox just holds the plug for the Passenger Airbag deactivation switch, it has no connections in the socket, the yellow plug looks very much like the bluetooth module plug, so possibly you do not have a module fitted or been removed, you do not say if bluetooth working? Edit RH changed to LH and mistake airbag
Brigante
Yup I do have bluetooth as I can connect my phone to the cars nx and make phone calls through it Can not stream music via bluetooth though which is why I was trying to locate the module to see what module I have. Will possibly upgrade to a later module to enable music streaming via bluetooth
Brigante
Whipped the glovebox back out, got my lil inspection mirror in and yup its immediately behind the carbon effect strip on the dash. Nice one mate So now I can confirm to myself that it doesnt support bluetooth music streaming as my modules serial number ends in AK Am I right in saying I need AN or later? Or will AM do? Brigante
Also, how would I go about fitting an airbag deactivation switch?
al2052
I believe AM was the first to offer streaming, although mine is AP version proably best to go for latest although their is little or no information around on what each version offers. Stoney871
For the PAD switch you need the switch (obviously :) ) and either activated by Ford or I believe possibly elm?

Brigante
Silly question but where does the switch fit exactly?
Stoney871
There's usually a hole with a snap-out blank.

Smidgey
I have a mk 2.5 2008 focus so if I can get a air bag switch and find the cable is it just simple cut out blank plug in cable put switch in hole or does it have to be activated some how Sent from my iPhone using Ford OC
GingerFlame
Ford have to activate it after you sign a form to say you take responsibilty etc. It may be doable using a modified ELM reader on your car? Not 100%
Stoney871
You also need to fit the PAD warning light (PADI) in the switch panel or the wiring connections won't be complete Like this one (But obviously wrong colour for an 08 car)- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170939759711?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
