Removing Stripes From A Ka Grand Prix?

I'm in the process of removing the stripes from one of these. They are self-adhesive foil kit rather than a vinyl. They are very difficult to get off. I've had limited success (a few cm's) with the heat gun on low, a tiny bit of heat and picking and pulling. But even on a small car this could take an eternity.

Does anyone have any top tips or products for these types of foil stripes?

unfortunately its a tough one, you have to pull off the tape to get at the adhesive. The easiest way would be to get it into a baker oven and that would melt the glue all at once.

Contact a few bodyshops and see what they would charge to stick the car in the oven (not all of them have it) but if its a case of chuck it in there for £20 for an hour, and it helps you out....

It took many hours but I finally got it all off. I used my heat gun to warm up the glue, but not enough to make the foil/colour part become to weak and was able to slowly pull the entire roof stripe off. The boot lid is the most difficult as the strip tucks around behind the lid which is very difficult to get to. It must be applied by machine at the factory before the bootlid goes on, I can't see how else they'd get it on so well.

At least it's sorted. But is the paint underneath darker than the rest of the car?

Paints fine. It's crystal white 11 plate. I was expecting some dis-coloration but I think it was rarely cleaned by the previous owner so a layer of dirty was probably shielding it. Plus it a non-metallic colour so probably forgiving in that respect.

True and being white that too adds a better chance of it being hidden well
