Hassen
I got the JL Audio 10W0v3-4 in the sealed enclosure and trust me when I say that it will definitely fit the bill for the types of music that you listed above. I would have similar tastes and do listen to old school hip-hop. Stick on Dr.Dre feat Snoop Dogg - Still Dre and hear the bass hit the low notes with no distortion. I had a 12" sub before and it was loud but not as clear as this. The JL Audio sub paired with a good mono block amp will be a very good addition to any system. You should put this track on once you get the sub system sorted. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_CL6n0FJZpk
j.beesley
I completely abused 2001 - Dr Dre for months when I first got into old hip hop! I'll deifnately take all your comments on board any questions I have I'll drop them your way if you don't mind as you seem to be running the set up I want - top bloke cheers for help.

j.beesley
I had a browse sometime before when we spoke I'm impressed! Made me think about a little sound proofing and eliminate as many of the dreaded rattles as possible.
Hassen
Cheers man. Appreciate the comment :) Sound proofing is underrated and it makes a world of difference to the car once applied. You really can't go back after that. One of the things that helped with my rattles was getting the new ?pins that hold the door cards which were worn/broken after being taken out so many times. They were cheap off eBay and was a smart lil mod.
j.beesley
Don't suppose you have a link do you? I must do a sweep of the car and tighten all screws/bolts. I've found it made the world of difference for 15 mins work in my old Vauxhall for rattles. Also get all loose items gone or fixed down!

Lenny
Anyone know of any decent and cheapish 10" subwoofer?Highly recommend the JL Audio 10WøV3-4 subCheapest uk supplier of JL Audio products is: www.soundevo.co.uk Theres also an optional protective grill availavle, Clips in to sub no extra screws required: I recommend wiring it up using some Vibe FlatBass 13SPK cable for optimum response solid copper strands inside. Carlos-83
Just replaced all the audio in my focus mk1. Went with the kenwood km303 bt head unit, fli 5x7 Speakers in all doors and this sub http://www.caraudiocentre.co.uk/product_m-alpine-swe-815_p-27715.htm Great little sub for the money all wiring kit included except for an rca lead. Massively shocked at the bass it kicks out for such a small thing. The bass is enough to shake the mirrors in the car and massage your back at the same time. It also has a removable piece so you can opt for vented or sealed.
j.beesley
Fli have a bad rep I think but for the price they aren't bad if you pick them up on offer - I will be looking to get some better components when Funds allows but for now they are okay
Carlos-83
Not had a problem with the ones I have. Plenty loud enough and only £46 for 4 Speakers brand new. I suppose if you're wanting stupid loud sound then they aren't going to give you that but it's a massively noticeable difference over the stock.
j.beesley
That's good where did you get them from? Have you got the Speakers and sub amped
Carlos-83
Got the Speakers from Halfords. They matched their online sale price in store. RRP was £32.99 a pair. Showed them the offer via my phone and they matched it for me. The Speakers run off the head unit and sub Is amplified (built in active unit).

Thinking about using the spare 12v wire in the boot I see you discovered for some led strips round the sub for the extra show off factor ;)Sounds good mate, Id splice them in to the boot light power supply instead; This way they will automaticlly switch on/off when the boot opens/closes and wont drain your battery.

Lenny
Ahh even better I'll do that, any ideas what I could use the extra power supply for?Ive just put a 12V socket on mine,Here's the guide if others are interested: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/29774-guide-additional-12v-power-socket-in-boot-focus-mk25/ You could use it to feed a voltage gauge or usb socket then fit a wifi router, Router is great for streaming spotify via bluetooth to the headunit. Or power a portable fridge, playstation 2 or electric blanket. I wouldnt recommend powering an amplifier from it to be honest not even a Class D, Best to run dedicated fused feeds from the battery for the amps.
j.beesley
Already got my amp on 4awg wire from the battery. The fridge sounds cool (no pun intended), wouldn't want to explain if there was beer in it to qa police man! Would be good for camping trips
