Lenny
Out of stock at the minute I'll keep an eye out though thanks. Need an idea of where mount my amp - I'm reluctant to just mount it on the enclosure. Thinking may cut a sheet of MDF to fit over the right wheel arch and carpet it and mount it on that. When mounting an amplifier in a vertical position on any surface but most likely carpeted MDF; The carpet can insulate the rear of the amplifier reducing its cooling efficiency. I recommend purchasing some aluminium bushes available on eBay, Fit them like a washer between the amplifier and the panel, They will create a cavity between both surfaces allowing the amplifier 360 degree's of ventilation, Alternatively use four plastic drinks bottle caps ;) proper Blue Peter style See my guide for creating a carpeted cavity panel: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/63695-guide-fitting-custom-amp-sub-enclosure-mk2-mk25-focus-2005-2011/ Fitting this panel also prevents the custom sub enclosure from moving around without attaching anything to the body of the car atall,

j.beesley
It would be of help I would be very appreciative - I'm going to build a mounting point of some description for my amp so will be put to use. Just had a right nightmare! Spark plugs we're sitting in water and one of them snapped off when I was un doing them. All sorted after 4 hours of messing so didn't get round to re locating wiring. Just to top it off the fella off Gumtree that said he was gonna come didn't turn up.
salsheikh
Joe i've created a mount for my amp to sit on the r/h side (drivers side) in the boot as i plan to add an additional amp (main amp) and keep the vibe set us as back up as i plan to add another 12" sub in the boot. your welcome to come along and have a look at it. i made it after reading this thread: http://www.talkaudio.co.uk/ipb/index.php/topic/370110-ford-focus-install-for-the-mrs-system-build/

Your washer jet seals on the bonnet are allowing rain water to pass through, Its resting on your engine rocker cover and filling up the area surrounding your spark plugs mate, Get yourself some clear silicone from local DIY store and fill under the washer jets on the bonnet to prevent this happening. Also pm me your address and ill get the carpet shipped out to you tomorrow via standard mail, Send 6 euro OR $104.73 Mexican Peso's via paypal to leonard.woods@live.ie To cover shipping, Cheers.

As an alternate to silicone, get some "mist" type washer jets for £15 which provide better coverage and include a rubber seal :) that's what I had to do

Somebody got a John Adams "Real-Power-Workshop" from Santa when they were a kid man that's some tidy workmanship for sure, Although it would contribute to quite a bit of rear end weight making it steer like an elephant on corners, Saying that though the guy doesn't seem to weight conscious when carrying a full size spare wheel, Ive ditched mine in exchange for a Mk1 focus RS polystyrene tyre well filler and AA membership :) Save it on fuel and handling.
j.beesley
Sorry for the late replys lads didn't get email notification through. I'll get some silicone on the washer jets now I've got some more spark plugs and cleaned it all out thanks for the suggestion. I've build a mounting point for the right side of the boot (of a fashion) mounted the amp on it and drilled holes for the wires to poke through. It looks nice and neat and will be just the job when i tidy the corners up and carpet it. I've got to say the right side of that boot does look amazing. The sub and enclosure is in and the 2 main point I have to raise are It sounds absolutely incredible compared to my 12" sub After hearing a sealed enclosure with the JL sub I can honestly say I will never go back to ported enclosures Cheers for all your help on the subject guys been very helpful I'll be sure to upload some final pictures when she's all done next on the agenda: Carpet amp mounting point Fit a LED panel in the gap between the wood and amp provided by the spaces for a glow behind the amp Mount a MDF sheet on the underside of the parcel shelf and thinking about getting a design painted on In the future some better components and some sound deadening It's all coming together

Hassen
Sound deadening with something like Silent Coat would help.
Hassen
Great to hear you like the JL Audio sub and enclosure combination. It's a big difference I reckon from your 12" subwoofer. I was in a similar situation and I still smile everytime the new sub kicks in. Enjoy :)
j.beesley
It is a massive inprovment and sounds great. I'm just getting a few rattles and it's really annoying when the sub sounds so good. I'm going to see if I can try and eliminate some today if not get some more clips and some sound deadening. Trouble is with this car thing is you do one thing and find something else that needs doing!

Here's link to M6 size: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281711284298 Choose depth and quantity prior to purchase. The boot light power will power the strips no problem at all mate, Led's are fixed polarity though, Meaning they only work when positive is connected to positive and negative to negative, This only matters when wiring them in because if wired opposite they just wont light up that's all. If this happens; swap cables over. See my additional boot light guide here: http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/27165-guide-to-fitting-additional-boot-light-in-ford-focus-mk2-and-mk25/?&pid=146083#entry146083 I'll ship that carpet out in the morning aswell cheers :)

I'll get it all done and upload some pics of the finished product Dont forget to purchase some spray on glue for applying the carpet, Also its better if you paint the mdf with somthing first and let it dry prior to spraying on the glue it helps it bond better.
j.beesley
Got some spray on glue and the mounting point has been sprayed. Thanks for he advice. Don't suppose you would reccomend upgrading component Speakers or sound dreading first to improve the quality of sound? I want to hear the mid bass a bit more... Also struggling to eliminate these rattles, seems every time I sort one another seems to appear...

Also struggling to eliminate these rattles, seems every time I sort one another seems to appear... I've read before that the Mk2 focus suffered from dash and panel rattles but ford put additional padding in to the mk2.5 to prevent these, So unfortunately i cant relate to this particular issue mate, I upgrade my front and rear Speakers to JL Audio C3 650 at the same time as fitting the sub and two amps, All purchased at lowest price from www.soundevo.co.uk The four components are fed from a JL Audio XD400/4v2 mounted on the removable panel. I gathered up the parts across seven months then took a few days to strip the car and install, I didn't bother with sound deadening materials in the end, I had planned to use Dynamat and some materials from shush.ie However i just fitted some DEi Boom 6.5" speaker baffles in to the doors prior to fitting the Speakers, Helps keep sound inside the car. I would recommend upgrading the components as funds allow, No point upgrading them twice.

j.beesley
Definatly want a good set of comps eventually I think I might stick wil JL cause of how good the sub sounds. Short term plan of action!: Carpet amp mount Install leds for glow behind amp New parcel shelf, (cut 6x9 holes in - don't ask) New clips for door cards to eliminate rattles
