I've oversized the wood by a couple of mm so it's firmly in place with the help of some notches that are lined up with the underside of the plastic trim like so

Teaser ;)

Looking Good Joe,

Red led would look sweet,

I'm considering fitting a small UV projector light hidden under the drivers side panel,

Mounted with a 90 degree plate,

Like this torch but in a 12V

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/351264537755

It would be pointing directly at the JL sub on the opposite side of the boot,

And being a projector type; its light would be narrow focused,

The plan being the JL Audio logo would be illuminated by the UV light source when the boot is open without any visible source of the light or wires showing.

lol pimpin's back yo!

its a small modification that provides a range of uses, thought it would be ideal for displaying the JL Audio logo when parked in underground or multi story car park :)

Ow and it was mentioned on this thread about the roof lining and whats behind it well here's an image of what lies behind the headlining of the focus, i ment to post it up before now,

IMG_20150616_131244_zpsauluthau.jpg

The washer hose for rear window is glued along the drivers side of the roof lining,

Needs to be unplugged from both ends prior to removing boot panels to slide out the roof lining panel

The roof lining panel is fibreglass bass construction with an overall depth of 19mm including the carpet surface.

The uv light idea sounds ace I'll be interested to see how it works.

I wasn't going to upload the pics until it was fully done but the new led plate I have ordered is going to be here for another week. Thanks for all your help with the mini build - it wouldn't of turned our half descent without all the help. For the first "proper" diy setup I have ever done I'm very happy with it.

Looks excellent mate,

Glad to see the carpet being put to good use aswell,

The red caps used as spacers give a nice contrast to the black and match the RCA cable plugs nicely.

A grill on the sub would finish it nicely,

Regarding the UV black light; i wont be doing anything with mine for a while,

Recent accident in May has set me back in motion a lot and I'm still discovering the consequences of the impact,

In and out of many hospitals up and down the country running up miles on the car and the missus having to drive everywhere but still not much better.

Will hopfully know by weekend if operation is required as scan showed large amount bone marrow on leg/hip joint aswell as fractured socket which extends to to of pelvis/hip.

Been modding cars on Gran-Turismo 4 recently that's about all lol

Thanks for your comments - hopefully with the red led plate and the grill it will look the part and be very functional. I wanted something that sounded and look great but didn't eat too much into my boot space.

Sounds nasty! Hope you get better soon and wish you a speedy recovery - at least there's a positive out of all this. I've had you on hand to answer all my questions! Take it easy

 took five years of R&D to think up and create those guides aswell as working Overtime most weeks mate,

It looks a lot now if starting out with a view of completing them all in a number of weeks i can see how it all adds up lol

I was in Halfords yesterday with vicki for screen wash and saw there asking 14.75 euro for two T10 LED Bulbs :o thankfully my guides are not built on Halfords stock, if it was my phone bill would be sky high from phoning Rape Crisis helpline every time i bought somthing from there store.

This thread seems to have gone astray from suggestions for a sub. As for led's just get a focus titanium x. I've got a choice of 6 or 7 different colours of ambient lighting. Some lovely looking sub enclosures but personally I'd use the parcel shelf because the focus boot (well in the mk3 anyway) doesn't bode well to have a box in it.

Blimey Lenny. What have you done to yourself? I know all too much about hip socket fractures and 6 weeks traction. Not nice. Keep your p e c k e r up pal.

Ive been in touch with a few top people in Connects2 a uk aftermarket audio specialist last month regarding the need for a Mk3 focus custom sub enclosure,

Following an interview i had with them for there magazine; they asked for my opinion on what i feel the market needs and i explained the non existence of custom sub enclosure for the Mk3 focus,

Connects2 already manufacture custom enclosures for other models to date including the Mk2/Mk2.5 Focus

My accident was a simple stumble over and fall on to left side on to concrete floor in work,

But i was carrying a mandatory work phone clipped on my left trouser pocket (quite a large item much like a Motorola 2way radio) which was driven in to my hip on impact causing fracture and ligament damage,

Meeting with specialist doctor says another 10 weeks on crutches then back for another M.R.i

Cant drive or move much head wrecking to say the least,

Kids getting summer holidays next week and i cant do nothing with them such as theme park, zoo or forest all involve walking,

Cant even please the missus  i feel like a 10 year old male Labrador.

 That's "Reality HD"

I was surprised being asked to do an interview, I've used a lot of Connects2 great products on my build thread and in my guides,

I research everything before i buy it and in my guides i explain why this particular brand and model is best for fitting in my opinion,

And I give legitimate independent experienced advise.

Its great to see that there is a radar out there picking up on forum enthusiasts.

I never set out to be somebody someday nor do i aspire to be lol, my goal remains the same as always; to encourage and assist others in carrying out and completing various modifications on there car themselves,

Saving themselves a lot of money in the long run,

Success for me is reaching out and helping others to achieve desired goals by themselves rather than filling someone else's pocket to achieve results.

tumblr_lmab3bqWKe1qdv1k2_zpsd4a69254.jpg

I recently joined Twitter in March of this year,

There i met some company's of which i had used there products,

I shared my guides aswell as reviews with the company's and things sort of escalated from there :)

Gonna be?

Our Lenny IS already world famous

Cheers Sal,

I've never ventured out of Ireland in my life to date never been on a boat or plane,

but I've reached out to people across the globe via forums, Guides and solution ideas according to feedback i receive via emails of thanks.

Also check out this new product from Connects2:

http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/topic/71746-in-car-contactless-charging-phone/

This is somthing i plan to fit in the future.
