Whats The Different With S-Max Spec?

Hey people,

I am looking at picking up a Ford S-Max this weekend. Have it narrowed down to two cars.

One if a 2009 Titanium and the other is a 2010 Zetec. Having some difficulty figuring out the actual spec differences though. I didn think the zetec has upgraded radio for example but from pictures it looks like it does. Its also list as having parking sensors etc...

If someone with more of a clue could have a look at the two and clarify it for me? Can only really afford the time to go see one of the cars.

Any info would be appreciated

Usually things like electric rear windows in titanium, different seat fabric, alloys etc.

Yeah thats what i had thought myself. From looking at the spec of the Zetec if has 4x electric windows, parking sensors, leather steering wheel.

Maybe it was an import and is a higher spec zetec than an Irish car. Its like a Zetec with extra stuff. Its also the new shape which is nice but really there doesnt look to be that much difference in the new to old shape...

Just wondering if its worth getting the Titanium or go for the newer shape Zetec.

Think i would go for the newer shape if youre not too bothered about a few toys. The older shape will depreciate faster so bear that in mind too.

Yeah i guess so man. Realistically the only part of a spec i genuinely want would be bluetooth to hook up my phone, good sound system and parking sensors (Otherwise the wife will make a balls of parking). The zetec newer shape i linked has the sensors and sound system from what i see. I assume it has bluetooth and its just not mentioned but i could be wrong. Wouldnt mind an AUX port too as i like to listen to tunes from my phone

if you know the reg's on both cars type them into etis and see what extras are listed between the 2 cars.

titianium may have bigger alloys, maybe a pan roof, half leather bluetooth etc.

It should have an aux port as even my 07 Cmax zetec had one. If you start a thread in the Smax forum you might get the answers you need in time for you going to view either car.

Never heard of ETIS before but just googled it and that looks handy. Will ask both dealers tomorrow for the reg numbers.

Didnt even notice the car specific forum... oops!! Cheers lads. Will copy my post to the smax forum now

You can put the reg or vin number in and see the original build list for each car so you will know what it is equipped with. It also has all the service schedules so you can see what parts are due to get changed at each interval.

Can see the reg of one in the sale ad but it shows nothing on ETIS. Any ideas if thats a normal thing with some cars or if there would be something fishy if it doesnt show?

It might have had a private plate at some point then got re-registered onto an age related plate. You would be able to check it out on Etis from the vin number instead if you get it. If someone can hpi check the car for you it might give the previous reg number if its been changed.
