fbxiii
Hi. I recently had my Mk6 Zetec S stolen off my drive and have just bought a new one to replace it. I have read on here about getting a Disklok which I will once I can measure the steering wheel (unless anyone knows which size I need). I have also seen about OBD protectors, can anyone tell me where I can get one of these as I want to ensure my car is as secure as possible this time round! Someone is coming round to put a post in the drive too. Cheers, Steve.
jeebowhite
Steve, OBD protectors are pointless, they really are not worth the agro. Best bet is to move the OBD port elsewhere, or, wire in rocker switches across multiple wires to act as a pin code to get it working.
fbxiii
Thanks for the advice. What about getting another alarm fitted, any suggestions on the best one to have? I guess the other alarm wouldn't be able to be 'hacked' in the same way as the ford standard one.
jeebowhite
Cobra and the likes are the best, some have as part of their package an integrated obd protection system which is much more suitable, better warnings and vehicle monitoring and protection
fbxiii
I have been looking at Cobra but I dont like the look of the areas where the only approved fitters are. Call me paranoid but I can imagine these are the areas where a stolen car would turn up!! By the look of it, Toad will come and fit the alarm themselves which makes me feel a bit more at ease. Anyone have a recommendation of which Toad alarm to go for, or any other recommendations will be welcomed.
