microcat throws up an error when i enter the VIN of that car im afraid, must be too new

Hmm I'm sure it has to have a part number. Unless the lip kit came with that addition in later years models.

It will have a part number.

But our version of ETIS may not go past a certain date car :)

Just as I thought. I'll try my local dealer next week to check costs. Thanks for checking anyways :)

From extensive research i come up with various names for the part-

Aero Blade, Splitter, Diffuser.

It is not showing as a seperate part on Microcat but is available seperately as I have found an image of one seperate but can't find any for sale anywhere-

Using the reg from the above picture I have located the part, however it is only shown as coming with the bumper extension itself and not as a seperate part.

As the vehicle was registered in 2011 it is apparent that the trim piece was standard on ZS bumper trims from launch of the MK3 model.

Only one pic so far as I was at work and it was chuckin it down. Hopefully get a few more tomorrow.

Needless to say, I'm very pleased. Definitely +12.4bhp

Here's another shot, in the rain, of the new splitter fitted:

Can't stop looking at it, makes the front end look more aggressive.

Just need the honeycomb grille now :D

....and skirts and an ST spoiler and rear bumper skirt... Lol

I'll eventually get the last pieces but I think, instead of the honeycomb grill I'll get these:

Quick question: a new fuel station opened up a few miles down the road from me and offered super unleaded, first I've seen around here. Is there any benefits to be had from super unleaded in my 1.6 ? Obviously it's a tivct, if it makes a difference.

On a 1.6 probably not a lot of benefit but give a tankful a go and see how you do.

I always run my ST on the good stuff but then it is tuned to make good use of it.

I'll give it a go and see. Might take two tanks to get the full benefit but all I can do is try :)

Just found out through reading my manual that if I use the auto lights function for the headlights, and they're on when I turn the car off, they stay on for a user defined amount of time. :) I thought auto lights just came on and off depending on lighting conditions outside. How cool.

Yep, there are 3 different time settings , 20,40 or 60 secs from what I can remember, select them in your instrument cluster settings menu

Also lights can come on in heavy rain also if you select that option as well

It's really useful, especially in these dark afternoons. I park facing my front door and I can see all the way there.

I think there should be a MK3 Appreciation thread. I'm really enjoying this car, best I've ever owned.

I did have mine set to 60 secs but got fed up with people telling me I had left my lights on, esp at supermarket car parks, now on 20 secs !!

Mk3 can be picked up cheap now, £5k for an early one.

Yea I noticed. I paid £7,450 for mine, Titanium with 34,000mls in July/August but I spose the prices depend on trim/mileage.

Blimey. My titanium x was near 15k for an 11 month old one with nearly 20k miles. Mind you my car has full leather interior and everything except adaptive cruise.

Blimey. I paid just under 15k for my 14 plate which was 12 month old and with 9.5k miles. Mind you my car has full leather interior and everything bar adaptive cruise.

Good to know a Titanium could be had for that price! I'm only interested in the Titanium/TitaniumX or ST ranges whenever I have to replace my car. Did you have any concerns about it being an early model and potential faults having not been ironed out?

Not particularly if I'm honest. The car had a flawless service history and was a real credit to the guy I bought it off. It has the same tivct engine as the mk2 I had so I knew the engine as well, even if it is kinda old now. I haven't had any problems as of yet and hopefully I don't, but I can't see anything happening anytime soon. It really is a solid car and I'm loving every minute of driving it, pulls well and sounds excellent with the Green air filter I got recently.

I got lucky in regards to the price. £7,500 and the guy had paid extra for the 18" alloys and for Sat Nav to be fitted so I lucked out big time !
