JT_Fiesta02
Hey guys, I'm looking at taking the next step to my Fiesta Zetec and giving her performance upgrades such as a brand new induction kit, cobra exhaust and an ECU remap. Is there any other ways to increase horsepower, top speed, 0-60 time etc. Also any visual mods, my car currently has... Back 3 window tints St seats Blue interior light A few stickers An exhaust that I got when buying her (Not sure what type but definitely needs upgraded) Not a lot but makes a huge difference. Thanks, Jonny.
GingerFlame
What engine is it? Petrol? If you really want to reduce your 0-60 then strip the interior :)
JT_Fiesta02
What engine is it? Petrol? If you really want to reduce your 0-60 then strip the interior :) Its a 1.4 petrol. Fairly quick already but just needing an extra kick as I'm getting bored haha. I usually do lifts a lot so need all the seats I can get. I'm not talking about making it a supra or anything I'm just wanting to try match a zetec s so I don't have to bother upgrading for at least 3 more years. Its not a track car and will be used every week.
GingerFlame
My car is a 1.4 petrol and I know what you mean.. but you're not going to keep up with a zetec s whilst keeping it a daily due to your lack of a turbo...

I know, not gonna try to keep up with it, just for the mean time have some power until I save up for an St. Just looking for a nice fairly quick car that turns heads while I gather money for an upgrade. The Zetec s is 9.9 0-60 and I'm averaging around 11 at the moment. Zetec s is 124mph top speed or something around there and I've had her 106mph. Just looking for an extra bit of power rather than spending a load buying a new car then starting from scratch and doing that one up again. GingerFlame
You won't get much more of a top speed increasw due to the gearing of the box You could try a new manifold & stainless exhaust with sports cat, a remap will give you about 8bhp peak & a little bit of torque.. Have a think about an ST conversion. Following someone on instagram with a 5 door st150!!!
JT_Fiesta02
Yeah was looking at a cat back cobra exhaust non resonated and that said would give me up to 10% increase then I would need a remap to make it stable but that adds 9bhp and 13 torque. Not sure if that's good or bad and I'm almost certain the induction gives me 3bhp I read somewhere. How do they have a 5 door st150??? Would I be able to do a conversion and how expensive would it be??
GingerFlame
Will resond in full soon... But they've transferred ALL running gear, engine, gearbox, clocks ecu keys etc into a 5 door from a donor st150 :) would cost about 1400 for parts if you can find them :)

GingerFlame
Have you researched what remaps can give a standard 1.4? Have a look on superchips site.. there's not muvh to be had from the 1.4 as that & the 1.25 engines were restricted by design
GingerFlame
Better off putting the money for the upgrades in the ST fund that way you'll have it sooner
JT_Fiesta02
Was speaking to my dad and we just calculated a lot and im cheaper to buy an st and insure it and do visual mods on that than upgrade.
kamz
Mate theres no point spending money on it as you will lose it them sort of cars don't gain money and it wouldn't even come close to a zetec s trust ask me I have one and I know
JT_Fiesta02
yeah my dad literally said that to me but I haven't a clue what to do.

The 1.6 new zetec s is cheaper so im not sure whether to go for that or not or just change make completely.
GingerFlame
Insurance on the new zetec S should be cheaper too ;)

kamz
The mk6 is nice it's worth every penny I tell you now and there a few mods that will turn heads everywhere such as 4 2 1 manifold center section and custom back box that makes the car pop and bang well through every gear it's a nice car to enjoy at a young age couldn't ask for anything better at this age considering the insurance as well
GingerFlame
parkers says insurance group 14. Im currently on 10 and paying £800 Ooh.. that's a shock! Haha, it's 800 cheaper for me and I'm 17!
JT_Fiesta02
How much is insurance? What age? I would prefer a mk6 because of variety of mods! But sometimes the new ones can look a hell of a lot meaner If done right! Not saying the old ones don't! I love old cars! Been an ek fan bot since a kid but now I love mk6s
