Mk1 - Window Regulator Broken, What Is Comfort Function?

Hi All,

My front drivers side window regulator seems to be broken on my focus.

When operating the switch I can hear the motor and some other grinding type noises, the window moves slightly but not much.

My focus is a MK1 Zetec, 5 door with electic front windows. The switch also has an option where you can press it further to fully open the window.

When looking for replacement regulator I notice you can get with or without comfort, my question is which 1 do I get? Some people say comfort function is that option, others say it is an window open/close option for the remote central locking.

Also what tools do I need?

Many thanks!

Comfort windows have both Quick-Up and Quick-Down on all windows. Next to this the comfort windows do also support global closing by the remote control.

Normal electric windows do only have Quick-Down on the driver door window.

Comfort windows have different motors, switches and wiring from the normal electric windows.
