Rear Suspension Damage

My car (Focus, Mk1 - '04) this evening suffered minor accident damage (rear end impact, speed less than 10mph) to the rear right corner. Wheel impacted a kerb, burst the tyre and now the right rear suspension arm seems to be misaligned by a few degrees. Body work gaps between the wheel arch and the wheels are also skewif compared to the left side.

Has anyone ever had a similiar accident, if so what were the consequences? How strong is the suspension hardware? I paid less than £2k for the car so if it's likely to cost upwards of about a £1k then it may be bye bye motor :(

Any info or costing or parts required would be much appreciated.

Firstly its not safe to continue driving the car in that condition as it wont steer or lean properly resulting in a bigger accident I'm not saying this in a negative way mate only to advise for your safety and the safety of others.

I'm guessing the rear tyres are in need of replacement which caused the car to slide in the first place,

Or

New tyres were fitted to the front instead of the rear,

Either way the result was the front tyres had more grip on "lateral G" which swung the rear out,

New tyres should always go on the rear this way you cant swing out like this

To correct the car and leave it safe on the road you could be looking at a bill of up to 600 including labour.

The wheel will be buckled,

Rear camber will definitely be out of like, which eats tyres

Rear camber bolts.

The suspension tower socket on the chassis will need hammering back to shape,

You could pick up a full rear end assembly from breakers for less around 150

Then pay to have the chassis damage repaired,

Fitting the new rear end parts,

450-500 including labour,

Best thing to do is get it up on a mechanics ramp soon as to access the damage,

Rear disc brake could be warped needing replaced,

In an impact such as this slide and smack,

Its the weight of the car causes the damage not so much the speed.
