Squealing Clutch

My Mk III Mondeo 2.0 TDCi Ghia estate has recently developed a squealing noise when the clutch is fully depressed. There are also some unsavoury sounds associated with the clutch. It has 115k on the clock so I presume that the clutch is on it's way out. So booked into my local garage.

As the clutch is such a big job, what else should I be getting them to change in that area at the same time? Obvious thing is the DMF but are there any other items that would be sensible to change to save more jobs later on?

it could be the clutch thrust bearing tat is causing the squeal, but at that mileage, you might as well get the clutch and flywheel changed. Sadly not a cheap job, but well worth doing...

Yes that was my thinking. It's just flew through an MOT and has had a service and new tyres so while it's running well it's worth keeping even though it's old! Going to be painful though £££!!!

sadly the pain is something that is necessary, I saw in my paperwork, a clutch, DMF and fitting at an indie garage local to me (south east) cost £550 so it can be an alright job. that was 60k miles ago, and I do have my thoughts wondering if the DMF is in the early stages of failure, but its always spot on, so I plan to keep running it till it will run no more!

I had that on my mk3 it was the thrust bearing but changed everything clutch wise DMF cost was £545 at my local garage money well spent went on for another 75k till fuel pump failed at at 185k
