STEADS
Watch that your bonnet lock works after fitting before closing the bonnet down .

Dee_82
Best to fit the modified lock piece that has recently come out. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=261991020276&alt=web Ordered Seems to be limited availability too. I think this, along with the EGR Plate, should be the first mods any of us should consider! I'm toying with the idea of getting both the upper and lower grill in that style, I picked up a chrome one a while back for 20 quid but its a pain in the !Removed! to keep clean and shiny. Only thing stopping me is if I ever decide to install an ST bumper it would be useless.... hmmm decisions!

Dee_82
Just noticed some rust on the bottom of my doors, seems like they have been re-skinned at some point in their life and not done very well :( closer inspecting showing its not good at all, paint bubbling as well, so the grills are going to have to wait whilst I find some new doors, least that explains why the paint work looked dodge on them

ajzetecs
done with grills few month ago, be carefull with upper grill when removing standard, keep hold of cable at end where bonnet lock so does come out of lock.Once you have fitted new one test the lock with bonnet up, just flick the part inside of lock in the closed postion and put keys in and if flicks back open it has worked ok p.s if u not clear on part after fitted grills will post video if u want

tomo91
I ordered the full set and fitted them to my mk2.5 a few months ago, transformed the front end! Good quality products as well! But I was silly enough to not support the bonnet lock and when I put the new grill on, the bonnet wouldn't open! So as long as you support the lock it's an easy swap! Dee_82
See this fix for the bonnet lock, what's the easiest way of installing it, I'm a little reluctant to start pulling the lock apart without knowing what I'm supposed to be doing. From what I gather the small white bit of plastic sits inside a plastic part that is directly connected to the actual lock, not the keyhole end. Am I right in thinking the grill needs to be removed, then pull the lock connection from the key hole out of the white cylinder which then exposes the inside, pull the old part out, swap it with the new and put back together again in reverse...
