GRAHAM46
I needed a cheap pair if axle stands for the occasional oil change and brake pad change etc nothing professional. Halfords have an offer at the moment of a small Trolley jack, a pair of axle stands, a pair of wheel chocks, a wheel brace and a mechanics creeper. The normal price was £75 reduced to £50 and now £40 with my discount card it's a bargain at £34. Not sure how long they will last but worth a go.

GRAHAM46
I won't be under the car very often at all so I didn't want to spend a fortune. I know they won't stand up to frequent or professional use but for getting under for an oil and filter change they will do me

MONDEO TXS 2.2
This kit is fine for home user car DIY as the OP states, my staff have been using them for over a year with no issues
SeanW
I have a very similar RAC branded set (looks identical in fact) The creeper is crap. Rest of it is quite sturdy!! EDIT: Just remembered - a mate of mine ran over one of the chocks...didn't fare so well lol But they do the job of stopping the car rolling under gravity!!
