Seeking Advice - Ka Engine Temperature

Hello fellow Ka owners!

As you probably know, the engine heats up to quite a temperature before the fan kicks in...

I've been told by my local garage that this can cause a problem over longer term.

There is also the case of the fan, which should work after the car has been shut down (if the temperature is high) - this never happens.

It makes me worry a bit to be honest.

Do you guys have any advice on what I should do?

Many Thanks!

Change the expansion tank cap to make sure it holds the pressure. If it doesn't circulate properly you will get hot and cold spots.

Well, today my car has passed MOT, no advisories.

On the emissions test - the guy wrote: engine oil temperature - by passed - gauge warm.

Any ideas on what that means?

I would phone and ask them - sounds like they couldnt test it - didnt even know they tested that as part of the emissions test on an MOT.
