TomsFocus
Well, it's probably to do with terrain, weather and the fact I can't drive slowly also. My tank averages since moving have been more like 54/55mpg. :-/ I really do want to gut it and know someone that's happy to gut and weld it, just can't afford the remap (or the insurance increase for power map) and won't be able to for the foreseeable future which kinda sicks.

south_bound
Tax £130 MOT £56 Insurance £250 fuel £1100 (15k miles) All the above is fixed and about the same amount every year. Then the rest depends on the year - its been an expensive year for me with new tyres, timing belt change, a/c recharge, EGR delete, excess on new windscreen and routine servicing which I do myself, so total about £1200. If you had asked last year the total would have been only about £50 to buy oil and filters. Average for my 8 year old car with 110,000 miles since I bought it at 1 year old is just over £400/year plus the fixed costs above. Given the depreciation is now down to nearly nothing I don't mind spending a bit more on keeping it running - next job is to replace rear wheel bearings... Shennas
Insurance £142 Petrol £981 Car Tax £154 (think) service £169 Wing mirror (my son nocked off) £84 So £1530 pa, plus devaluation
Focu5
Considering I only bought it on 1st August, quite a lot. Car £4,970 Insurance £190 Tax £230 Petrol £150 ish I get woeful mpg Major service including 2x tyres + alignment £320 New reverse light £25 Heater dials £10 Upgrade to ST steering wheel £30 Green cotton performance air filter £57 (eagerly awaiting arrival) So I make that about £5,982 in less than 2 months, or £2,991 a month. Before xmas I want to fit a new head unit and tint the rear windows so no sign of the expense slowing down.

Shennas
My MK3 powershift gives 32.7mpg around town and 36.5 average. So not too far off manuals only real down side is there was not 1.0T ecoboost version with powershift
Focu5
On a short motorway drive recently my average consumption crept up to mid/high thirties which isn't too bad. Maybe would have averaged slightly higher if the drive was longer. Around down is like 23/25mpg, truly pathetic. For a while I was driving carefully and managed to push it up to an even 30mpg but it's just so boring driving like that and I got fed up with it. Shennas
I think the Pre 2011(MK2.5) focus had the wet clutch and therefore tend to average around 32mpg the newer MK3 Powershift uses dry plates hence the improve MPG. So it just need the 1.0T engine which i guess will be the on MK4?

TomsFocus
I have about £250 to add my bill this month! Remap, insurance increase for remap, set of wipers, set of centre caps, ECU case and security bolts, oil filter and sump washer, sidelight bulbs (x4!)... There is a reason for that though, won't have any money spare the next couple of months so needed to make sure it was all sorted this month! :)
