Ska1982
Need some help please. I have just today bought a 2004 Winter Edition and driving it home was very dufficult. I had to press the throttle pedal to the floor to get it to go and its Very! Low How do I fix this? Thanks Scott
Omendata
Check the throttle cable in the engine compartment it has probably worked loose from its fixing or is slipping where it attaches to the throttle - it winds around the air filter and under the throttle body. Did you not test drive it before you bought it? I hate to tell you this but the car when old is a blooimn nightmare of electrical glitches , broken door locks, alarm going off at all times , really bad fuel consuimption, tyres wear out faster than ive ever seen, front and rear bushes wear faster than Jordan finds a new mug to wed, front and rear lights fog up due to water ingress and they are sealed units so nothing you can do, front exhaust removal and engine repairs are difficult due to the bad design - even replacing a light bulb requires taking the wheel off. Heated seats stop working , A/C coolant leaks easily and needs replaced. I bought mine last Sept its a 2003 model blue and it was dodgy right from the off - check the front lambda sensor as well they go and fuel consumption and car stuttering ensues. There is more but I just give you a little info to look forward to. I would get an obd device and give it a full test - i would recommend anynone going to buy a second hand car to take an obd tester along it has saved me hundreds in garage charges but then again ive never taken a car to a garage i prefer to do the job right which no garages i know do. If only all car mechanics were as good as Edd China or some of the guys on here.... We can but dream!!!
