Alternator Replacement

Hello, Ive a 06 Reg Ford Focus 1.8 TDCI, DURATORC due to power steering failure and flat battery I need to changed the alternator.

I restarted the car with jump leads and the power steering worked ok till I took the jump leads off, so it looks as though thats the problem (Alternator)

I would be grateful if anyone could post a link of a diagram for the serpentine belt with tensioner or offer any advise.

Thank you.

Are you sure it's not a dead battery, not given enough time to recharge before the jump leads are removed? Diesels are very power hungry!

I'm not sure if it's still the case - but in the '' old days '' an alternator would not charge a completely flat battery

I advise you get the battery properly load tested which will tell whether it's serviceable or not
