Hi folks. Purchased a 15 plate focus zetec s 1.5 tdci (sheep in wolfs clothing) two days ago. After swaying over it and an Audi. It has the navigator extra and 18s. As soon as I saw it I was sold. However, noticing a knocking noise, very faint from the rear. Is this common? Any help is greatly appreciated

On a new car no there shouldn't be any knocking from the rear at all since its new pop it back to the dealers

Thanks, will book it in. Just wasn't sure as its sport suspension apparently, in case it was just the stiffness of springs

Mk 3.5? New one on me. Why not just add a 1? Fair enough though

Because it's just a facelift of the MK3 not a full new model.

Update - the sound was the rear seats where the latch is to keep them secure, the metal rattling. Solved this by wrapping some light foam around the latch. Secured in place no more noise!

Thanks..., again. No real need for such an anal/unobservant and unhelpful reply. Maybe read other replies before sniggering from your high horse... Again thank you sir for ur magnanimous amount of help.

Not a good attitude from a new member.

Civility is given and expected in return.

Another comment like that and consequences will follow.

Don't really understand ur consequences comment? I came on here looking for a bit of info if my issue was a common one. Not a lecture on how to behave thanks, after being informed twice of the same thing(completely unrelated to my issue)

This club has rules that everyone is expected to adhere to.

If you feel you can't do so then feel free to leave.

If you choose to stay then civility is expected.

We don't accept attitude from old members and certainly not from someone who gets a huff on for nothing.

One warning point awarded.

To be fair its a relevant reply on the focus you have mk1 then a facelift which I the 1.5 then the mk2 and a facelift 2.5 mk3 facelift 3.5 if you went on some selling sites and bought a part for a mk4 it would actually be for the facelift mk2.5 hence why you were being reminded to help avoid future confusion

As for the seat latches another method is to cut a piece of rubber tube down the centre so it slips over the catch and keep on with a dab of glue so you can lift the seats etc without fiddling with bits of foam
