briscaF1 Posted October 28, 2015 Share Posted October 28, 2015 Hi. Friend of mine has one of these on '57 plate at 75k. He says he gets blue smoke on cold engine start, e.g. in the morning. He thinks it might be oil in the turbo but I think it's valve seals. He says it doesn't use any oil and it only started after it was overfilled by a garage (he dropped the oil and refilled it himself). He put 5-40 in it. Any ideas? james_60 Posted October 31, 2015 Share Posted October 31, 2015 Hi Jerzy The Correct oil for that engine/car is 5-30 fully synthetic How many miles has your friend covered since the car was overfilled. If it's chucking out smoke I recommend blanking the egr value to prevent recirculation.
