Do you think that if I bought a Milltek system online & ordered it to my house that an exhaust specialist would just install it for me?

yeah,

That's how I done mine,

Arrived looking like a butcherd sheep inside shrink wrap lol

I put it in back seat/boot and drove to exhaust place for fitting.

told them I wanted them to fit encase it needed some tweaking; they would be best people to get it right first time.

Haha yeah true.

Luckily I just googled exhaust specialist near me and there are 3 all in a 30-45 minute drive!

So now its just narrowing down who are the best to go to for the price they are asking...

Haha my Mrs wouldn't have a clue what or who to ring or ask for! lol

Its all good, I just fired off a few emails to the different companies asking for prices and installation times etc.

So that's the exhaust, cat and manifold sorted, now I got to research the rest of the remaining modifications I want done to my ST! :D :D

no problem cheers,

I enjoy helping brings back good memories of when I was doing the same myself.

The Chase is better than the catch no fun when it's all done,

When starting modification i used used to think "would be great to have this and that done"

And now it's all done, it is great and I can feel the money's worth but my hobby is now gone lol feel somewhat empty🎻

I think me and you are going to be talking a lot more when I read these guides!! lol

yeah mate an induction kit and remap are all part of the mods I got planned, such as a bigger intercooler, lowering springs, silicone hoses and a lot of little details. Im planning on it getting wrapped in Matte Black too!

Having a thread will be nice to show everyone my creativity :) haha

just to inform images are displaying once again if interested 😀

Car looks amazing mate!! Well done :D

Loved the change with the rear badge into a brake light as well!

& the change from the rear fog into a double reverse light. You really know your way around a Focus lol

It's just made me more eager & anxious to get started on my ST!

When I start my build thread I'll make sure to keep you posted & up to date :)

Actually I did notice lol

I did think it was a nice touch to go with the surrounding mods! I'm planning on changing the 'Ford' & 'ST' badges to yellow, to follow a theme I got in mind lol

There's no need to go for the manifold unless your going for a hybrid turbo, biggest restriction is the cat, if you fit a sportscat (MoT legal whereas a de at isn't, although your MoT isn't due for 3 years), if freplacing the cat you will need it mapped usually stage 2 or a custom map to remove the engine management light which may come on due to the change in emissions, cat back exhaust just add noise on the ST, not much performance wise, even the non resonated aren't that loud. If you want loud have a look for videos of KMS exhausts.

How far do you plan on going? Is warranty important? Mountune are the only warranty approved tuner for stage 1 and some parts.

Stage 1 - upto 220 usually just a map sometimes induction kit too

Stage 2 - upto 240 map, downpipe (either sportscat or decat), induction kit, intercooler, some will say it needs a cat back some won't, same with boost pipes.

Look at Mountune, Peron, Jamsport, Pumaspeed, Collins, Revo. I think Mountune and Peron are the only ones who make and map to a set selection of parts rather than mix and match and hope for the best.

Don't get sucked in by peak figures, look at graphs to see where the gains are compared to standard,

Hi Mark

Well I don't know what a hybrid turbo is so I definitely not trying to do that lol

Yeah I'm planning on getting a sports cat to go with the cat back exhaust, if a manifold is for a hybrid turbo then I probably wont be investing in that.

Umm warranty isn't really a problem, but if I feel later on that it is then I'll wait a bit until its finished.

I've listened to a few vids of the Milltek cat back and from what I heard I like it, I'm not really going for loudness, I'm going for 'throaty'. if you get me?

I'm planning on doing visual mods aswell as performance mods so I'm going to be spending a fair bit on my ST.

I like the sound of the Stage 2, that's pretty much all the performance modifications I'm going for, as well as lowering the ST.

Just to clarify, boost pipes is the same as charge pipe kit, for the intercooler?

Yeah I do like the options and variety that Mountune and Peron offer so may look into them in more depth in the future

If you got any information regarding Stage 1 and Stage 2 modifications then I will be reading intensively!! :D

I know this off the topic of exhaust but I found this on SiCo Developments website.

This is a Peron Stage 2 Power Upgrade with intercooler, remap, downpipe and air intake, is this the kind of thing I should be getting if I want to be getting around 240bhp? I think they offer a sports cat aswell which I might get because I'm not fussed on a decat.

Even if I purchase this I'm still going to get a cat back exhaust I think..
Any suggestions please? :)

The Peron kit does look good, lots of good reviews by owners of it, I think I've seen figures or 237bhp and 280lbsft

The induction kit is regarded as one of the best ones for the ST, some can sometimes cause the car to go into limp mode. Have a look for videos of it as the noise can be a bit much for some compared to an enclosed filter like the Mountune air box.

Keep an eye on sico's Facebook page as he does discount codes now and again, just missed the Halloween one.

Yeah I read in the description that it gets up to 237bhp which is more than enough for me! For now lol

I haven't managed to find any reviews on it yet though.

To be honest even though it comes with a induction kit I was still thinking of getting a K&N one or a Mountune one & selling that Peron kit on to try & make a lil bit of money back.

But I will do more research on it & try & find out more about it regarding problem like limp mode & more about the noise too.

Been looking at the KMS exhaust which you suggested too... Really torn between that & Milltek now! Haha

I also like the look of the Mountune MR230, but for the price they are asking am I really going to get my money's worth?

Mountune are very good they can do stuff other tuners cant, access the full ECU. On the MK2 Focus ST the MP260 kit was quicker 0-60 then other tuners 300bhp kits.

Personally i wouldnt get a cat back. On my st i had an open induction Kit (Dreamscience) that was very loud lots of turbo chatter with a map DSCI. Then i had a sports cat. The ST exhausts are already very well designed for airflow they dont offer massive performance increase with cat back only maybe 1-2bhp. A downpipe and Sports cat offer alot more benefit as the airflows greater and decrease turbo spool up time.
