Phen0mable
Hi; My clutch is new. I've only done 3000 miles. Today I hold the clutch half way in 2nd gear for too long and definitely could smell it inside ( I mean proper stinks) Then I stopped for a while to let it cool. I checked it after. In 3rd gear half way up and it stalls so I think it's not as that bad. Problem is that it feels like it slips during accelerating. I wanted to ask what you think about it ?? Is it going to be fine or shall I replace it ??
alexp999
Why are you holding the clutch half way? That will be slipping the clutch causing it to overheat and smell.
Phen0mable
it was uphill and I was stuck in traffic. Bad weather (couldn't see a S..t) kid was shouting his head off and I didn't pay enough attention to what gear was engaged. I always release clutch in two stages but today it took me way too much time due to too high gear
alexp999
It's not going to kill the clutch in one go like that but definitely something you should avoid if you don't want to be replacing it again.
Phen0mable
O yeah, that's for sure. I'm not doing it again.
TomsFocus
It'll bed in again over the next few miles. Just don't make a habit of it lol!
