DCH
I have a spare set of Zetec 15" wheels fitted with new Hancook Winter I-Cept tyres [195/50 R15] that I used for two winters on my Zetec Fiesta. I have changed cars and now have a 2014 Titanium X Fiesta fitted with 16" wheels and 195/50 R16 tyres. I had previously thought that the difference in diameters was taken up with lower profile tyres on the 16" rims but now I have come to fit my winter wheels I have found that the tyre profiles are the same and the overall tyre diameters are 1" different. So, I guess that this will make the speedo read about 7% high. Can anyone say if it would be legal and acceptable to fit these 15" wheels and tyres please? If not, anyone want to buy a set of wheels and nearly new [8mm] tyres????
DCH
Does anyone have any thoughts on this? I have worked out that when the speedo says 30mph the car will be doing 28mph, 40 / 37.5, 50 / 47, 60 / 56 and 70 / 66. Is this within legal limits for speed errors?
