Engine Malfunction Struggling To Start

Hi,

I have a 2008 kuga over the last few months a issue has been occurring more... When starting the car a engine malfunction warning in red triangle pops up and then disappears... But car struggles to start... When started its fine...any ideas ? Read previous threads about engine malfunction but mine seems different ?

have you managed to do an error code scan?

crank sensor might be loose /faulty although won't show up on most diagonostics, rac equipment will show the fault if there.

If you run a modern vehicle you should buy yourself an OBD2 code reader then if you get a fault you can check it for yourself - if not then you have to pay someone to do it, code readers are cheap and easy to use and it means you are half way there to the fault finding process.

Couldn't agree more. I put a how to together to help people with this. I always highly recommend a modified ELM cable and the FORSCAN software.
