Fitting S Badge To Grille

Bought one of these S grille badges from eBay, the ones that bolt through the grille. Thought I had nothing to do other then open the bonnet and put my hand down and feed it through. But no theres no apparent access.

How do you fit these? Surely you don't need to take the whole front bumper off?

Can you not just do it all from the front?

Unscrew the s badge, feed it in and around one of the open honeycomb slots and screw on the badge?

Nope tried that but you need to fit a bar from the back and theres not enough room to get that through and hold it. Has anyone fitted one of these?

Is this the metal type badge with a 50mm long threaded rod, a plate and nut?

Someone on Facebook fitted one I'm sure of it, fit the badge to the stud, put the plate on and the nut just on the end of the rod, feed the plate through the grill, pull the badge forward so the plate is flat against the back of the grill, stop the nut from spinning with your finger and spin the badge till it all tightens up.

AyrshireDude, this should take 5 mins mate.. Screw the S to the bolt and then hold the nut in your fingers. You should be able to poke your fingers through the grill, with the nut only threading slightly.. Then once it's not falling off you can move into exact position and then tighten with fingers through the grill.. Worked fine for me mate.
