Eddie86
Hi, I've just bought a new mk7 Fiesta 1.2 Style and to make it look a bit more sporty I'm putting the Zetec S body kit on it peice by peice. Up to now I've had the rear spoiler and rear diffusor fitted, all I need next are the side skirts and front lower spoiler. The problem is I don't know if the front lower spoiler will fit the Style front bumper, as where the Zetec S has the fog lights there are just these vents on the Style. Can anyone help me? sussex
how much, if I may ask is it costing you to add the full body kit?

ChrisZetecS
The front spoilers should fit, there is a silver Style Mk7 at my local Ford dealer at the moment, and that has the Zetec S bodykit on. can't wait to see pics of the finished car :)

Rear spoiler £180 Rear Diffusor £180 Side skirts £135 each Front lower spoiler £

The front spoiler should fit but might look a bit odd without the fog lights. Are you keeping the standard fiesta style wheels? Remember that these modifications will make your premium go up so it will no longer be insurance group 3 prices!

DNStuff
Any addition you make to your car, especially body kits and wheels which are easy to see will in most cases push up your premium. If you decide to leave them undeclared on your insurance one of two bad things may happen. Either: 1. If you are unfortunate enough to have an accident, they will mend your car back to standard, and you will lose the money you spent on the kit in the first place 2. If you have an accident the insurance company will notice that you have undeclared extras and your insurance will be void. This isn't too unlikely, as for insurance claims the garage has to take photographs of the damaged car and list all the parts that need replacing. In many cases modifications on a lower group insurance car can push the price up to a similar level of a standard car that already has them on. Also some insurance companies simply won't insure modifications at all. I would ring your insurance company and ask some questions before you spend any money! paulworthing
I guess you could claim that you brought the car like that from the Ford garage and was advised that it was supplied new with those bits on . . . . the wheels would be a different story and I bet they hammer you for them as they will see bigger alloys as boy racer territory! studly
I've decided to leave my aftermarket alloy's off my bogo style fezzi purely because all of a sudden the insurance bods want to charge me nearly £100 to have them on since i've changed cars and i'm 36 and not really a boy racer lol, in hindsight maybe trading upto a zetec may have been a better option for me but alas i hate all the chrome bits tacked onto the higher spec models. Tbh you would have been better getting a zetec s (if money wasn't the issue that is), if you declare these mods you'll more than likely end up paying the same amount or more in insurance as a zetec s. We cannie tell you what to do but if you go the non-declare route it is a definate sticky wicket especialy with a new car that's why my alloy's are currently sitting in a mates garage purely cos i don't want to take the chance of bunging them on and having an accident and not having the chance to take them off before it gets asessed by the insurance bods. Blimey thats cheap for an 18 year old! I've seen quotes of double that for ancient 1 litre 1990 fiestas, let alone a brand spanking new one with some modifications! I was paying that sort of money for a 1.25, 5 year old fiesta when I was 20!
sussex
i have the full body kit, painted and fitted for £437 Dave Was that a special deal done when you bought the car? -- I added the X Pack 17" alloys to my Zetec, I told my insurer and paid a one off extra of £18 to my annual policy for the mod. I'm paying more than that as a 23 year old driving a 1.1L Peugeot 106. I think there's some bit of info missing from this... Are they just a named driver? Do they live in the remotest part of the land? Do they only do 15 miles a year? If not, then I need the name of the insurance company :P . zetec turner
i got the full kit so cheap because i was suppose to get the car a month ago.. so they gave me a tank of fuel tax and the kit for that price.. as to my insurance, it was £2000 so i rang them up and they gave me a quote of £960 i asked if there was anything i could od 2 bring it down and she said put your mum on it, that put it down £100, then i asked about the mods, and it was back at 960, also i do 12000 miles a year 1 years no claims and that is with aviva Get the car at 4:00 on monday can not wait! :D

Most quotes I get are £1000 or more. I've only found one place that gives me a decent quote. Please do tell who your insurance company is! I'm 22, I've never had an accident, I've got 5 years no claims and no points. I'm with Direct Line and I'm the only driver on the policy. I don't think I'm going to tell them about the body kit. I'll probably just play dumb and say it was like that when I bought it.
studly
Back in the day i had a bog standard escort but with the rs turbo kit and alloy's on and i didn't declare it otherwise i would have been paying grp 14 insurance, luckily i never had an accident and as a 20 year old everyone was doing the samething. After a mate wrote his modded car off and had his insurance voided due to not declaring a bodykit & alloy's i declared any mods as it's not worth the risk, if you did have an accident you will definately be risking it with a new car. I was debating about bunging my alloy's on purely cos my fully comp insurance would go up to £398 with them on, thankfully the days of £700+ insurance are way behind me lol.
