Surely its got a good alarm already. You may want to get the OBC Port disabled though. I've read that these can be used to start the car up without a key.

Toad AI606 are very good at a reasonable price.

As said, getting the OBD port disabled would also be a smart move.

I've heard you can move the OBD port?

Do you know you can disable it or move it?

Disable it (remove fuse 19)

Move it from its mount and tuck it up behind the dash or fit it into a box.

you can buy these locks, have to register for price £95-130

http://www.tvl-ltd.co.uk/vehicles/ford/fiesta/fiesta-ecu-obd-protection-device

ford will also supply and fit the above, there is also a electronic lock that ford can also supply and fit.

disklok is a very good visual deterrent, but from their site use code lro16 for 10% off.

alarms are ok but expensive, a visual deterrent is better as they will try and find a car easier to steal, locking the port or moving it stops them plugging in and starting the car.

Removing the fuse may only disable power to the socket. If the external device is powered by batteries, then they probably still have access to the appropriate pins they need.

I would completely move the port away from it's original location.

Thanks guys,

Yeah the Viper security looks amazing, but it's not cheap!
So if I remove the fuse, will anything else be affected, I take it you just put the fuse back if you need a service etc?
The lock device from that link, Does that just cover the port completely?
Ideally as you say i'd like to move it, is it just removing a few screws and tucking it in?

There are 2 tabs each side of the port, push them in and it will push out behind the dash.

At at the end of the dash is a small panel that you can prise off, can then see where the port is and find a place to hide it.
