tazzman600
Talking posh. Yesterday I saw a mondeo vignale. I first noticed copious chrome on its front end. Then more down its side and back end. The word in a nice posh font vignale on its side. To be honest it looked the dogs danglies. I don't think we 'common' folk buy a car for its posh value. Ok I've always gone for the top of the range versions. If money was no object then a ford car would be in my garage alongside a roller an M5 and a zonda. Oh. The ford would be a Focus RS.

Having driven both a Ferrari F430 and an Astin Martin Vanquish (way 'posher' than say a BMW or Mercedes) there's no way I'd have one as an 'everyday' car. who would with running and service costs
jace1969
Like you never see most of the top rich side of the world get into a ford,ok a few but not a lot. The person didnt in the words say posher it was how he came over to that side like been there with ford and wanted a change, different class. Also i have read a nice few on here that have changed to another make and was just seeing the main reason why ? I remember my old boss years ago always had top makes like Merc/bmw and the main reason apart from the stuff on the car which he looked at was status symbol,he said i get a better reaction taking a client out for dinner /meal or visiting firms in a car like that than other cars i thought what's that all about,i was a lot younger then. TomsFocus
I like how 'posher' has been accepted as a word in this thread now... Most of the people that own supercars don't own them as every day cars, you usually find they have one or more others as well. I often see a Focus or similar parked next to something 'decent' in nice areas. Afterall, who want's to take a Noble to Tesco? Can hardly get a weeks shopping in there! Your old boss using a Merc as a status symbol is a good idea tbh, humans are easily influenced. So if he takes a client out in a clean, comfortable, good looking car that comes across better than turning up in a rusty old Saxo... Just the same as you'd be more likely to trust him clean shaven in a nice suit than scruffy in a Shell suit even though it's the same guy doing the same job...
