Focus 1.6 ecoboost engine (180) vs newer 180 1.5 ecoboost

I currently drive a 1.6 ecoboost zetec s 180ps with a claimed 0-60 time of 7.6 or 0-62 in 7.9. 

I was looking at the new 1.5 and it's claimed to be 0-60 in 8.3 or 8.6 seconds depending on 0-60/62 measurement.

How can it be slower with the same power ? 

Not sure if a 0.7 second difference is that noticeable anyway ..

it will be heavier hence the slower acceleration from same bhp

i doubt anyone over 21 cares about 0 - 60 times anyway lol

Gearing may not be the same.

I'd say that the reason is Ecoboost 1.6 has overboost (additional 30 Nm for up to 30 seconds), however, 1.5 EB (both 150&180ps versions) doesn't have this feature.
