My ford focus mk1 has an issue with the rear lights when they are on only one works (passenger side) but yet both break lights work which run on the same bulb. Any help would be highly appreciated.

Hi and welcome.

It is a twin filament bulb commonly known as a Stop-n-Tail. The number you want is 380 (get a couple while you're at it, sod's law says the other side will go next week/month) and it looks something like this:

Very welcome!

For reference there's a list of bulbs applicable to the various incarnations of the Focus at the top of the page.

Good luck
