Jonay
Hi, Just bought myself a nearly new Focus ST-3 Mk3.5 Estate petrol in red. Went for the estate over the hatchback - a) because it was the best deal on the go at the time (lowest mileage and closest vehicle to me that met the ST3 spec in petrol specifications) b) because I prefer the looks of the estate over the hatch - a bit more low-key. Had a KIA Sportage KX3 in Orange before - but I was getting bored of it after 4 years and had clocked 67k since owning it from the dealer brand-new. Fancied a change. Loving the car, seats will take a bit of getting used to, as will the MPG (but that's not why we buy!) Noticed that the interior lights aren't working - the overhead lights in the cabin and the vanity mirror lights. The boot lights do work however. Do they detect the ambient light and only work in certain low-light conditions? I tried turning my main beams on to see if they were linked to that - but no result. The previous owner never bargained for footwell mats either - so I'm on the hunt for them as well as a rubber boot liner for the estate boot. Don't fancy paying dealers rates for them so any advice on where to pick them up cheaper is appreciated. Genuine preferred but reputable 3rd party also acceptable if they look the part. looking forward to getting to know you around the forums. tazzman600
Hello J and welcome. I agree about the look of the estate but only in ST form. There are plenty mats available 3rd party. Just google. To Ryan and TXS. What's with the square with orange spot in its middle? I'm seeing lots of them and am wondering.

Thanks guys. @tazzman600 they're multiquote tags I guess you're seeing. click on them for all the posts you wish to quote and they'll all appear in the reply if you click the "quote X posts" int eh bottom right after clicking them. I'll have a look - a lot of them aren't fitted and are universal type of mats. or dont have the retaining clip holes. I like OEM look - no colours! alexp999
Overhead lights and vanity mirrors are on the same circuit. They should come on with doors opening/unlocking. Are the buttons for the overhead lights lit up? Is any of them set to off or glowing orange? As for mats, ST-3 includes them as standard, so previous owner/garage must have kept them instead of passing them on.

I'll double check the fuse hasn't popped out. Is anything else on that circuit? I looked at the carpet, it looks as though i could see the outline of the mats that may have been there originally - but as you say not passed on. :(
alexp999
I think ambient lights might be on same feed. Unless a loom has got disconnected. Will be under warranty if not just a fuse.
