SpannerTheCat
In the 4th round of the 2016 VLN Endurance Championship race on the combined Nürburgring GP and Nordschleife circuits Dale Lomas in his Fiesta ST was passing Factory GT3 machines in cold & wet conditions when this happened; Here's the view from inside the car; He stopped at Marshal Post 163 (which just happened to be unmanned!) & activated the in-car fire extinguisher breathing in lungs full of white extinguisher smoke. Dale spent some time in the Medical Centre, breathing from a mask until his blood-oxygen levels returned to normal & has now fully recovered which is more than can be said for the car; The Team don't know what caused the fire, every bare metal surface corroded within hours. It stood in the rain at Parc Ferme for several hours before they could retrieve it & it'll need a new wiring loom & a bare metal strip down before it races again.
