How to know if I have ESP on a Ford Focus Mk2 Turnier 1.6tdci 110PS

Hi all.

I was checking my car specs on http://www.etis.ford.com/.

I bought this car 2nd hand two years ago and now I have to replace one of the ABS sensors on it, but I am not able to tell if it has ESP or not.

I have no ESP button or indicator light on the car.

On http://www.etis.ford.com/ I can see the reference "Less Electronic Stability Control", so I'm figuring that it didn't have from factory.

Is there a way to be sure if it has ESP?

Alternatively, what would happen if I were to install the ABS sensor for vehicles with ESP, to be on the safe side?

Would this cause any issue on the the car?

Thank you.

KR,

AC.

on the left of your steering wheel normaly you would have the controlls be able to access the little screen on your dash where it will then say ESP as much information as im able to give as my friend has the mk2 1.8TDCI and thats how his works

Try a full throttle start on rough or wet ground, if there's loads of wheel spin and no ESP light on the dash then you definitely don't have ESP.

Or as above, if you have ESP it can be turned off via the central dash computer screen.

Hi reece and Tom.

Thank you.

In that case it's clear, since I get wheel spins in wet slippery roads. :)

Any advice on an ABS sensor brand?

What do you guys think of TRW?

Thanks again!

I haven't had to replace any on the Focus but TRW are usually a decent brand.
