Hi All

I have a 59 reg focus mk2.5 18.petrol zetec-s

I have noticed and issue with the intermittent wiper speed, if I change it from fast to slow it doesn't  change the time between the wiper moves.

they work normal on constant and on fast. it doesn't have a rain sensor.

any ideas.

I find they will only change speed when car is moving, if you are are stopped or idling they will resort to a default interval until you move off again.

Hope this helps

Hopefully it is a problem with the switch or its connector. Diagram of switch attached, it could quite easily be tested if disconnected.

All the wires from the switch go straight into the GEM / BCM / Passenger fuse box. This electronic module does all the timings, and drives two relays, one for fast wiping, one for normal wiping. And these both seem to work ok. Problems with this unit would be harder and more expensive to fix.
