Insurance question

Hey, I'm getting my car wrapped next month and changing the colour and my insurance have told me they won't cover me for it, so I'm looking up new insurance, but not sure which category a wrap falls under, non standard respray or non standard paint work, I'm thinking it's non standard paint work but I just want to be sure

It's neither, it's a wrap and should be insured as such.

Also make sure you get your V5 changed if you're altering the colour of your car.

I've had mine insured with two different insurers so it's definitely possible! You may have to get your quotes online for a standard car and then phone the insurer to ask if they allow it under their policy, if they charge extra for it or if they don't allow it at all.

Yeah I'll try that, thanks  did your insurers increase your price much?

When I had it done initially I was with Aviva (I think) and there was no charge. I then got more work done (remapped and lowered) so don't know what the wrap cost in isolation after that.

Ah right, I'll check to see what kind of price they will give me, thanks :)

Hi,

We have no problem insuring wrapped cars. If you wanted to PM me I'd be happy to arrange a quotation for you.

Kind Regards

Dan
