GMX
A game I used to play on one of my XP PCs, some years ago, I've never been able to get to run on any of Windows 7 PCs, so I'd resigned myself to playing it on a rather old Asus P4P800SE motherboarded PC on XP However, when I was browsing a repository of older games a couple of days ago, that had been recoded/patched to run everything up to Windows 10, I found it, albeit with a name change now able to run on all Windows up to 8.1; in this case. I duly downloaded and installed it. having scanned it first for hidden nasties (just in case, you can never be too careful) However, towards the end of the installation process, it asked for elevated permissions. Which it certainly didn't do first time around on XP, despite having exactly the same security settings in Comodo. So, being a little suspicious why it had this time, I ran it in Comodo Sandbox. However since I ran it in Sandbox, everything else has subsequently run in Sandbox! I haven't actually noticed Comodo do this before, perhaps it did, but I didn't notice. Is it now the default position that when you run one program in Sandbox: everything else is automatically Sandboxed thereafter? It's not a problem as such, I was just curious as to why now everything is Sandboxed
alexp999
Not familiar with Comodo, but have you checked the list of sandboxed programs? https://help.comodo.com/topic-72-1-451-4768-.html With regards elevated permissions, this didn't exist in XP, if you were logged in as an admin everything got elevated access by default. There was no UAC until Vista.
