Clutch pedal clicking noise

Hi all,

Just bought a 58 ford focus and everything was going great until I notice a clicking noise when I pressed the clutch pedal in and another click when I relesed it. Its not loud and it sounds like the sound a microswitch makes when its pressed. I had a look under the pedal and its definitely coming from the switch that the arm of the pedal presses when the pedal is pressed. Is it normal for it to make a click noise from each time the pelal is pressed/released? Not had it on any other car. If not is there anything I can do to stop it? Could it be an underlying fault and it needs to be taken back to the garage i bought it from?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It could be the cruise control switch clicking?

But it doesn't have cruise control. I'm guessing if it doesn't have cruise control it doesn't have the switch either? It's definitely coming from this switch thats pressed in when the clutch pedal is pressed. Forgive my ignorance but what is this switch for?

It's the same sensor as used by cruise control ad when you drop the clutch cruise control is disabled. The switch is installed on all cars these days
