Hi!

I bought a new ford focus 1.5 EcoBoost 150 a year ago. Yesterday i was parking and i head a strange noise in the engine. I don't know if this noise is normal, and it can be reproduced when the eninge is warm and idle. The sound is similar to this one in the video from minute 3:40.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fp3uDu0oZsY

As the video says, the noise is erratic. The user took the car to the dealer and as always, the dealer said the engine works normally.

Anyone knows where that sound come from?

Thanks!!

Nope Alex, i alredy saw your topic. This one only occurs in idle and when the engine is fully warmed. You can hear the irregular "tap tap tap" sound in the video around min 4:00

On phone so can't listen at the moment.

Are you sure it's not just the normal tapping of the high pressure injectors?

The ecoboosts sound like a diesel at idle.

Totally discarded. I know how "bad" this engines sound and its not that.

Take at look at the video when you can, and you'll see the difference.

BTW thanks for your interest ;)
