Gillsfan
Hi I just bought a 05 reg focus 1.6 petrol. During the test drive I noticed a whine when the power steering is disengaged. The power steering works as it should it's not heavy there is no fluid loss. The smallest steering input and the noise disappears, as soon as I stop moving the steering wheel is starts again. The noise isn't there from cold, it appears as the car warms up. It sounds like it's coming from the drivers side air vent (I know that sounds daft). The best way I can describe the noise is fluid passing though a by pass value, which would suit the symptoms. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? The dealer I bought it from will fix any power steering related problem I find within the first month. Many thanks in advance Steve
