Do you have the 150 HP version or the 182 HP version?

The 150 HP version can easily be upgraded to the 182 HP version using the original software. This is an inexpensive, easy way to upgrade the 150 HP version.

If you want more power than the original 182 HP you must be aware that there are several different versions of the 1.6 ECOboost. During production of the 1.6 ECOboost Ford made several minor and major improvements to the 1.6 ECOboost. At some point they even changed the internal design of the cilinder head, fuel injectors and actuators for the variable valve timing system. Most improvements also resulted in new software versions which are not interchangeable with the previous versions. Because of the many changes and improvements there are litterally dozens of different software versions used on the 1.6 ECOboost.

Loading an incorrect software version or a badly performed remap will definetely result in engine damage. In my opinion you should only get it remapped by a real specialist which has both the knowledge and experience to remap the 1.6 ECOboost.

I'm researching the possibility to increase my 150HP EcoBoost to 182HP as it was never sold where I live. What would be the best/easiest way to do this? I don't want any more power than what the stock 182HP version has as I don't want to increase the tear & wear on other components more than the factory has designed them for.
