Focus Mk2/2.5 Velour Mat Prices

Why don't they ever drop?   Been waiting 2 years and they're still daft money...  Nearly £40 for fronts only!

Don't suppose anyone knows the supplier so I could bypass eBay/Ford to get them a bit cheaper?  Or even has a spare set from a car they sold?

I've got a mix of cheap genuine grey ones and (now worn) black velour which is really annoying tbh lol.  Don't want cheap grey ones throughout, but they are less than half the price of the black velour and I have no idea why there's so much price difference.

I presume you've already tried Ford Parts UK.

I replaced all mine with the OE rubber ones, as I find rubber is more sensible idea for mats

I don't like rubber mats personally, each to their own though.

I had checked FPUK, and they now have an eBay shop which is where I found the ones I was looking for slightly cheaper when including postage.  I didn't see the ones you linked though oddly!  They're a more sensible price but aren't they grey rather than black?  I've got full black leather seats and a black carpet so the grey looks weird in there already.

These are the black ones I was looking at (already have one of them lol)

And rears

And cheap grey ones that haven't worn well, slip and have rolled up at the edges are these

The standard ones aren't cat proof either:laugh:

I bought my Mk1 set inside to de-fur, slight mystery how Brandy managed to get fur on the front set; the rear set makes sense as she sits at the rear, and periodically slips into the foot well.  Anyway, Molly decided the car mats were similar to her cat scratching rug and set about using them as such: she has shredded the edges and managed to detach the heel pad from the mat on the driver mat:ohmy:

Just found the full set of black velour for Mk2.5, this is the FPUK eBay shop btw...

I've bought full sets of genuine velour mats from VW and Vauxhall before for half that!  Why are Focus ones so expensive?

I didn't even think Ford did Velour mats for their cars other than the factory ones and the rubber ones - im going to have to buy some now! Which is a shame because I just spent £35 on a new carpet set at Ford. Thanks for this, nice little heads up! :)

Well those aren't black or velour but otherwise not bad.

Those are the cheap nasty 'standard' ones, you can tell as they need an extra heel pad to stop them wearing out in the first week lol.

Oh theres no way I'm paying that lol, hence why I've been waiting 2 years for the price to drop.

I'm a bugger for genuine quality tbh, don't want to risk tailor made aftermarket's as I've had some in previous cars that weren't any good, buy cheap buy twice.  Ive always stuck to the genuine quality stuff since, full set of velour for the vectra was £30 odd.  Similar for the Golf.  Can't see why Focus ones should cost any more than that!

hahaha! good shout! - I didn't know that Ford did Velour for Focus'. I will definitely be on the look out for some for mine. Used to have them in my C30 but to replace cost £230-250 from Volvo - daylight bleeding robbery, but felt and looked so good!

Learn something new everyday! Cheers TF!
